Tepic is located approximately 2 hours north of La Penita and is the capital of the state of Nayarit. As it is the largest city in the state, it represents the largest urban center with about 340,000 inhabitants and is a relatively wealthy area due to much of the farming; suguarcane, tobacco and fruits are a huge part of the economy in Tepic.

Visit the Museum of the Four Cultures, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Assumption, the Plaza de Amado Nervo and a bustling, colorful local market. Just 61 km North of Tepic you will enjoy an exciting boat trip to the Aquamilpa Dam, one of the largest of its type in the world. A further 30 minute boat ride takes you to a Huichol Indian village where you can witness their way of life and see beautiful world famous Huichol hand made art.

The location was great, close to the beach, walking distance from the town and everything in it. The owner, Jorge, was very attentive and polite. The rooms were clean, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need. Not very busy, but then again, we were there in May. We enjoyed our stay, and we'd definitely return.
