Be sure to save your Thursday in La Penita to spend at the market. Every Thursday 52 weeks of the year, hundreds of vendors from around the region come to La Penita to set up shops up and down several streets. Just a few blocks up from the Casita, it’s easy to split up your day with a few visits to the La Penita Market and sitting by the pool. In fact, there are so many things to look at, it’s often a good idea to plan to go once to look, go a second time to buy, and a third time just to get any last minute gifts; especially on your last week with us!

Whether you are looking for food, clothing, shoes, music, or a whole variety of trinkets, you will be able to bargain for it all here! It is also a nice treat to buy a pound of fresh shrimp for a snack later in the day.

The owner’s of Casita know many of the local vendors as we’ve been taking our guests to them for years. Be sure to ask us what vendors at the La Penita Market they might be able to assist with a little extra discount!

I loved the rooms and the beds are comfortable, there are Canadian guests who have been coming to stay here for years and they are very friendly, and Mrs. Martha who cleans the rooms is very attentive and very friendly. Mr. Jorge is also very attentive and does everything possible to make people comfortable and have an unforgettable experience, he even finds you a taxi to move them.

The location was great, close to the beach, walking distance from the town and everything in it. The owner, Jorge, was very attentive and polite. The rooms were clean, and the kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need. Not very busy, but then again, we were there in May. We enjoyed our stay, and we'd definitely return.
